Terms and Conditions

Last updated:

By using the OmanTaxi apps or website you agree to these terms. The service is operated by Ubar Smart Cities LLC, licensed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to provide taxi booking through smart apps.

Your account

  • You sign in with your phone number and a verification code sent on WhatsApp. You are responsible for everything done through your account.

  • Giving false information may lead to suspension.

  • Accounts are personal and cannot be transferred without written consent.

Fares and payment

  • Tariffs are approved by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology. An estimated fare is shown before the trip; the final fare is calculated by the meter from the class's approved distance and time rates.

  • Published extras may apply, such as airport fees, extra stops, waiting, or a cancellation fee after the free cancellation window.

  • Pay in cash, by wallet, or by card when available. Card details are held by the payment gateway, never by us.

  • Unpaid outstanding amounts may block your next booking until settled.

  • Captains may not ask for any amount not shown in the app. Tell us immediately if this happens.

Trips

  • Make sure the pickup point is accurate and choose a class that fits your passengers and luggage.

  • Alcohol, drugs and indecent behaviour are not allowed during trips; riders are liable for damage they cause to the vehicle.

  • Shared taxi: no more passengers than booked, and no changing the pickup point after booking.

  • You may cancel if you feel unsafe, and use the SOS button in the app when needed.

  • We are not responsible for forgotten items, but we help you recover them where possible.

Captains

Captains are bound by the service performance contract, its annex of violations and administrative actions, and Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology requirements.

Suspension

We may restrict, suspend or terminate an account for breaching these terms, repeated unjustified cancellations, or suspected fraud.

Liability

We take reasonable care to provide the service and are not liable for failures beyond our control. The service may be suspended during national emergencies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, and the courts of Muscat Governorate have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms; the last-updated date is shown at the top of the page. Continuing to use the service means you accept the update.
